This April 18 marks the 100th anniversary of the most devastating incident of the War of Independence in Carlow. Join Carlow historian and member of CHAS Dr. Shay Kinsella in conversation with Martin Nutty when they discuss the events of that fateful spring day in 1921

  1. My great-great grandfather Patrick Doran emigrated from Ballymurphy, County Carlow & arrived at Philadelphia via Liverpool on the Barque Louisa Bliss June 4, 1847.

All I want to know is which are the best resources in Ballymurphy or its immediate environs to research & learn more about Patrick Doran & his family.
