CARLOW Historical and Archaeological Society presented prizes to winners of the Primary School History Project Competition 2017 at a function in Carlow County Museum on Thursday evening. David Bolger from Bishop Foley NS won 1st prize with a project on Milford Mills. Eva Jones, Ballinkillen NS won 2nd Prize with project on the Knockroe Bombing 1941 and Rory Leen, Ballinkillen NS won 3rd Prize with a project on Corries. Emma Carbery, Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál was Highly Commended for her project on Dan Carbery 1904 – 1957 – her great grandfather. Prizes were awarded to the best projects in each of thirteen County Carlow schools at the event attended by students, parents and teachers.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize and the Highly Commended projects will be displayed in Carlow County Museum.
